Hanging baffles help prevent squirrels from dropping down onto hanging bird feeders. To be effective the baffle needs to be 12" or more lower than branch and 8' from the tree trunk, fences, or other squirrel launching pads. The bottom of the bird feeder must be at least 4' and preferably 5' from the ground.
